Day 72: Played Joy Kingdom

I have never been a fan of the Facebook apps like Farmville or Candy Crush. They just take up way too much time that quite frankly I don't have to spend. In addition, there are the troublesome notifications that ask for a particular item or to help grow another's farm. This was my preconceived notion before I heard about Joy Kingdom.

So yes, today I played a video game. But, Joy Kingdom is not your average video game! You can play via Facebook for free- much like many of the other games-and you will earn 'joy'. However, this 'joy' you earn can then be traded to benefit actual foundations in real life. There are opportunities to trade joy for bowls of dog food at Tony Larussa Rescue Foundation or protected land for lions through African Wildlife Foundation. Obviously the more you play, the more you can give back!

The game itself allows you to plant and grow plants and take care of animals. It is really easy to play AND raise money for good causes. To play, log into Facebook and visit the Ellen Show's page. In the right corner of the page there will be a box to click on. The picture below explains how the 'joy' works.

So what do you say? Can you lend a little joy.

God Bless,
Kailee
