Day 194: Left Quarters In Candy Machines

As a child, I loved shopping and going to the mall. Each time I went, I would spy the 25 cent candy machines and check to see if there happened to be a quarter in the machine for me! Well, today whomever that observant little child is they will find a few quarters! I was at the mall and I walked past the candy machines, as I usually do. However, this time I stopped and put a few quarters in several slots and left them for someone else to enjoy. Whether they decide to take the quarter or buy some candy, they will have a new and unexpected prize in hand! Remember it is the simple joys in life that make it all worth it!

Day 162: Left A Surprise In A Book

I have spent more time in the library in the last week than I have the entire year. Today, I set my own personal record and was there for 6 hours. This last final is quite time consuming and I can smell the sweet scent of summer creeping up on me.

Today's act of kindness is an interesting idea I saw online. The library is such a large area and the majority of the time spent there is working on something that is not too thrilling. Well, what if you opened a book to find a little surprise? How thrilling would that be? I know I would enjoy it. I found a book that interested me, and snuck a  few dollars into it for the next reader. I hope they enjoy the book, as well as the simple surprise! 

Day 100! Happy Sibling Day

Happy National Sibling Day! If you hadn't known it was sibling day, don't worry. The day is not over and you still have time to send your lovely brother and/or sister a nice text. The only reason I had known about sibling day is because I hunted for corky and bizarre holidays before the year began. Besides, it never hurts to tell your sibling how much they mean to you.

In my case, I have one brother who is 24 and living in Montana. Because we are not under the same roof, I wanted to surprise him with a little package. He is my big brother and I have always looked up to him. He was the reason why I played sports and worked so hard at them. He is such a natural athlete that he shined at anything he did. So, when it was my turn to take the field or the court, I wanted to shine as bright as he did. It didn't matter if he had some idiotic coach who didn't believe in him, he always gave 110% and I believed in him. I still do. He is one of the smartest, (opinionated), artistic, talented, hardworking person I know. I only hope that he knows that and that he believes it. I don' think he realizes how much I idolize him. 

Seriously, sometimes the people that mean the most to you are the ones that tackle you-literally- to say I love you or pretend to punch you in the face as a way to say hello. No matter how they share their love, they still to know how much you care. Take the time today, tomorrow or sometime soon to let your siblings know. But hey, there isn't a better time than the present!

Day 49: A Surprise For Two Princesses

As yesterday's events unfolded, one of my closest Miss Washington sisters and Miss WA roommate had to crown her successor. Before doing so, Kenzie was given the opportunity to do her final walk and presentation. At the end of her farewell speech, she invited two young girls on stage, whom she had met earlier this year at the Children's Hospital. The two inspiring young sisters have both battled cancer and won. As she chatted with them at the hospital, they shared that their favorite artist was Taylor Swift. While on stage, Kenzie asked them a few question and then presented them with a surprise that I am sure they will remember forever.

Her loving act of kindness can now be shared all over and hopefully inspire others to do something, if not of this magnitude, to at least try an act of kindness in any size or shape!

Day 22: Welcomed A New Neighbor

Moving can be a scary thing. When arriving to your new home, it's natural to feel uncomfortable and  yearn to feel welcome. I know I did. Everyone, no matter a simple greeting or an extravagant welcome party, deserves to know that they are accepted and appreciated. Hence, today's act.

We are a few weeks into the winter quarter and I have been meaning to do this for a while now, but today was the perfect opportunity thanks to the help of an accomplice. A fellow Tri-Citian has recently moved to Cheney and is now a fellow Eag! As mentioned, an accomplice and I acted quickly while she was at class and dropped off a goodie for her. This act was anonymous I may add, no recognition needed. Even though I believe this post may give it away. So, you know who you are fellow eagle and if you are reading this, I simply wanted to say, "Welcome!"

A few hours later, I received a text from my accomplice with a picture attached. Apparently the treat was well received and appreciated. Below are the following words written on her social media pages:
